Dawn’s Gun Horror and Billy’s Panic
Dawn is consumed by paranoia as her and Billy’s high-stakes escape plans hit a roadblock. Joe is completely unaware that the couple are secretly planning to flee the village with the children using fake passports. After telling Clemmie they are simply going on holiday, Billy and Dawn’s getaway is completely derailed when they are intercepted by Graham. Instead of escaping, they are brought straight to a field where Joe has replaced his original stag do with a surprise “sten do” for everyone.
As the group prepares for a clay pigeon shoot, paranoia grips the couple. With Caleb unable to reach them and the tension mounting rapidly, Dawn steps up to take her shot. However, her aim dangerously drifts away from the targets and directly toward Joe. Watching on in pure horror, a terrified Billy is left realizing exactly what Dawn might be capable of.
Charity Maintains Her Cover-Up
Following the shocking death of Dr. Todd, a heavy air of secrecy continues to hang over the village. Charity and Serena manage to catch up, but their conversation is abruptly cut short by the sudden arrival of DS Ramsden.
Meanwhile, Jacob vows to stop asking questions about Todd altogether. However, Sarah remains deeply conflicted about keeping her husband completely in the dark. Despite the mounting pressure and the toll it is taking on her family, Charity firmly maintains her false confession.
Heists, Blackmail, and Haulage Warfare
Domestic and financial chaos collides for the King household when Jimmy and Nicola discover that the B&B is in severe financial distress. Pinning all their hopes on securing a vital new haulage deal, they remain completely oblivious to a ruthless plot operating behind the scenes. Ruby orchestrates a targeted robbery of Jimmy’s shipment specifically to force him into selling the business, enlisting Kev to steal a van for the heist. While the plan successfully destabilizes Jimmy, Kev is left furious to discover the stolen loot consists entirely of nappies. The criminal dynamic shifts instantly when Ruby firmly puts Kev in his place, revealing she possesses footage of him attacking Billy.
Later, a desperate Kev smashes Caleb’s laptop to destroy any remaining evidence of his crimes. The fallout explodes at the “sten do” when a drunk Kev stumbles over to Billy and apologizes for putting him in the hospital. The shocking revelation leaves Billy stunned to learn Kev was his true attacker, and that Caleb and Ruby were entirely complicit. Facing ruin, Kev warns Caleb and Ruby that he will expose their secrets if he faces prison.
The tension peaks when Caleb refuses to hand over the fake passports to Billy until the wedding day, determined to ruin Joe’s big day. Struggling under the intense financial pressure, an oblivious Jimmy ultimately sells his haulage business to Caleb and Ruby, completely unaware that Kev’s robbery caused his downfall.
Vow Renewals and Hidden Arrears
Amidst the village chaos, Lewis suggests that Nicola and Jimmy should renew their wedding vows, prompting Nicola to reminisce about their original wedding day. Nicola is absolutely delighted when Jimmy agrees to the vow renewal, and she begins fantasizing about Elliot’s upcoming university experience.However, domestic bliss is a facade, as Jimmy privately panics after opening a letter and spotting the words ‘mortgage arrears’.
Meanwhile, an uneasy truce is officially drawn between Mack and Ross.
