Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm
Lacey is hosing down some boards and sees Amelia and David wondering down from Salt after a coffee date. Lacey lashes out at Mali when he insinuates her dad seems attracted to Amelia. Lacey gets Jo across her concern that David is acting strangely around Amelia. Both Mali and Jo correct Lacey – he’s just happy. Later, they run into David and Amelia who are on the way to Salt for a date.
An awkward run in as David is silently aware that his daughters know exactly what’s happening. Lacey gets defensive as Jo and Mali comment on how cute they look together. Meanwhile, on the date, David can’t stop talking about work, so Amelia diverts the conversation to more flirtatious territory… the connection between them is palpable.
Mali and Lacey are talking at the Surf Shop, and Mali asks Lacey to keep her cool when her dad walks down the stairs with Amelia after their date. Lacey asks Mali how he dealt with his mum dating again after his dad passed away. Mali reveals that her mum never dated again, and it’s a shame because she deserves to have someone special in her life. This makes Lacey question her own stance.
Meanwhile, David and Amelia have moved to the balcony for a night cap. They are a few whiskeys deep. Amelia lets him know she’s enjoying herself, she usually would have bailed by this point on a date. The balcony is empty and the moment is intimate, so Amelia leans in for a kiss. David reciprocates. After an intimate first kiss, David breaks away, and panics, abruptly leaving the balcony and Amelia with zero explanations.
Levi expresses his frustration that his surgery was booked for three weeks from now; there’s only a small optimal window. He receives a call to head back to the hospital, and Eden tells him that even if their compatibility were to align as a stem cell donor: he still wouldn’t be eligible as he will be recovering from surgery. Levi tries to argue that he can easily push back the surgery, but Eden knows that would sabotage his own recovery, which she won’t allow.
An argument ensues as Levi is resolved to donate, which ends with him storming out of the room. Eden tries to enlist Cash to convince Levi not to donate, but Cash tells Eden that she can’t expect him to rally against something that could potentially save her life. Cash and Levi both meet privately and agree not to succumb to Eden’s demands, but unfortunately by law she does have the final say of rejecting Levi’s stem cells.
Levi receives a call to return to the hospital, so he goes and Eden tells him that she’s changed her mind – who is she to stop them from trying to save her life. Eden is uncomfortable at everyone accommodating her illness, but Abigail and Cash tell her: that’s what family is for. Levi gets a blood test at the hospital to determine his compatibility.
Abigail breaks down to Mali on the beach over her guilt at not being able to help – frustrated that Eden is being punished for her own mistakes. Mali tries to uplift her – there was no way she could have known this. Mali tells Abigail that there’s other ways she can help – they will likely need a lot of support with life admin: decent food, changes of clean clothes, emotional support. Abigail is grateful for Mali’s support.
