Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm

On the way to Salt for coffee, Jo is trying to pry for details on David’s first date but he’s being cagey, deflecting her questions. He becomes overwhelmed when he catches sight of the balcony on which he had his first kiss with Amelia the evening prior. He is reminded of how he awkwardly fled the date after the kiss, and so he decides to go to the Diner for coffee instead. At the Diner he runs into Amelia. David asks if he can speak to her privately then apologises for his abrupt exit – he still has feelings for his deceased wife.

Amelia tells him she won’t pressure him into anything, so when he’s ready, he should reach out. Just before she walks away, she tells David that it was a nice kiss – until the part where he ran away. Justin runs into David and lends him an ear to unpack his conflicted feelings. David confesses to feeling guilt for unfaithfulness towards his deceased wife, which isn’t helped by the mounting pressure from his daughters. Justin asks whether he could live comfortably without at least trying to move on?

Marilyn gives Alf a gift on her and Zane’s behalf to give to Martha when he goes to Merimbula for her birthday. Zane struggles to take credit for the present and insists on paying Marilyn back. Alf asks Mali to keep an eye on Marilyn while he’s away, as she’s alone at the house with Zane. Later, back at the house, Alf asks Zane to promise he’ll keep doing the right thing. Zane gives him his word, so Alf leaves.

Home and Away

Marilyn can sense that Zane’s on edge, and when she presses him on it, he confesses that he has doubts about whether he’s deserving of the trust that they have bestowed on him. His victim is still suffering while he walks free. Marilyn prompts him to utilise his penmanship to apologise to his victim. Marilyn sits with him as he tries to write, but he’s too confronted by the magnitude of the task and says, ‘no amount of sorries covers how guilty he feels.’ Mairlyn tells him – that’s the perfect way to begin the letter. And so, Zane finally puts pen to paper, scribing his apology.

Mali tells Lacey to take a break; she’s incessantly venting about her dad’s new romance. Lacey meets Jo on her break and is determined to get to the bottom of whether David’s hiding something about his date – looking for any excuse to write off Amelia. Jo puts her foot down – their dad is entitled to his privacy, so let it go. But when they’re leaving Salt they run into Amelia and Lacey pounces on her for more details. Jo pulls Lacey away, leaving Amelia with some privacy. Later, on the beach, whilst packing up for a surf lesson, Lacey spots Amelia coming out of the water and accuses her: dad’s acting off, what happened last night?

Amelia tells Lacey that’s her dad’s business – don’t overcomplicate an already complicated situation. Lacey meets up with her dad and apologises for her handling of his new romance – she just doesn’t want him to get hurt. David returns home, alone, and sits at the table, contemplating a photo of his deceased wife. He looks at his wedding ring, and for the first time since she died… he takes it off.
