Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm
David encourages Amelia to sit down with him at Salt, but she’s soon called away by work, much to both their disappointment. David instead meets Lacey and they agree to have a night at home together with a movie. But they’re barely done arguing over what movie to watch when Lacey notices – he has removed his wedding ring. David tries to justify, explaining his counsellor advised him to take it off, but Lacey knows it’s because of Amelia. He admits he wants to know where things are headed with her, and Lacey suddenly plays off that she has other plans for the evening.
Mali finds Lacey alone at Salt, taking shots and tries to support her, but Amelia’s arrival only causes her to flare up. Lacey confronts Amelia – telling her to stay the hell away from her dad. Mali walks her home where Lacey sends him away and is left staring at the picture of her mum and dad together, the wedding ring placed carefully in front of it.
The next morning, Mali updates David on Lacey’s behaviour and when he confronts her, she’s honest. Lacey told Amelia it’s too soon and she needs to stay away from her dad. David’s frustrated and shuts her down – he wants this relationship, and he thinks it’s worth fighting for. Meanwhile Amelia goes to Leah, explaining Lacey’s blowup and Leah is encouraging, explaining that Lacey is very protective of her family and she’ll come around. Amelia’s not so sure – maybe it’s simpler if she just walks away?
Marilyn is encouraging Zane to post his letter to Heidi (his victim), allaying his uncertainty about following through. After he’s put it in the post box, Leah and Justin are complimentary, though privately, Leah’s uncertain if it was the right thing for Zane to do.
That night Zane is anxious about the letter, and Marilyn tries to comfort him by covertly adding to the tip jar and Zane’s impressed. She also suggests the distraction of focusing on getting his driver’s license, and they study together that night. Justin and Leah are excited to use their romance voucher at Salt but unpack Leah’s feelings around Zane writing to his victim and how she would feel if Theo’s murderer were to reach out.
The next morning, Zane’s headed off to do his ‘L’ plate test and Marilyn confronts Justin and Leah, knowing something is amiss. Leah is honest – she’s not sure Zane did the right thing by sending the letter.
