Formerly a co-host on Countdown she is more known for dealing with numbers not the weather but as part of Iaith ar Daith (Welsh on Tour) the TV presenter is swapping the numbers board for a weather map.

Carol who was brought up in Prestatyn, north Wales, will appear on the 12.28 weather bulletin on S4C on Sunday, January 26 in the Tinopolis studios in Llanelli.

Speaking ahead of the challenge Carol said:

“I’m really looking forward to filming Iaith ar Daith and going on the road with my mischievous cariad Owain Wyn Evans.”

“I did O level Welsh back in 1976, and nothing since.  So, in total I’ve been learning Welsh very part time for about two months, and I love it.  It’s taken me back to my roots,” said Carol. “I learn things quite quickly, but I have a very long time to go before I’m fluent, and I do want to become fluent.”

As part of the series Gavin and Stacey writer and actor Ruth Jones appeared in the popular soap Pobol y Cwm this week and her episode (21st January) is on BBC Iplayer for catch up now.
