After suffering a panic attack in court Kim (Tameka Empson) was sentenced to a week in prison and despite Denise’s (Diane Parish) plea to the judge that her sister was ill.

In an upcoming episodes of EastEnders, the stage is set for Kim’s release from prison. As Howie prepares for her return, another surprise awaits him when Felix takes charge and organizes a grand welcome home party for Kim.

However, things take an unexpected turn as Kim, determined to face her new reality head-on, decides to leave the prison before her family can come to collect her. When she finally arrives home, she is greeted by a crowd of well-wishers eagerly awaiting her arrival. Deep down, Kim battles with conflicting emotions but tries to put on a brave face.

Wanting to shield her family from the truth, Kim puts on a facade and refuses to let Howie and the kids see the severity of her illness. In a conversation with Sonia, they discuss potential treatment options. Unfortunately, the waiting lists for help are lengthy, and Kim asks Sonia not to mention anything to Howie.

Struggling to adjust to her everyday life, Kim attempts to return to work but finds herself overwhelmed by a panic attack. It is during this moment of distress that Eve and Howie stumble upon Kim, cowering in the darkness.

Howie pleads with Kim to allow him to assist her, and after much hesitation, she finally agrees. Later, Howie takes it upon himself to find a therapist specializing in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for Kim, ensuring she receives the help she desperately needs. Recognizing Howie’s unwavering support, Kim is filled with gratitude.

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
