Off the back of Nicolette’s request, Paul visits Aaron and David and promises David that if they wanted to return to Erinsborough, he would continue to refrain from having any contact with them. Dubious, David rejects the offer, even when questioned by Aaron, telling his husband he feels like he’s a worse person when he’s around his father, and being away from Erinsborough has meant he’s the happiest he’s ever been. But a nervous Aaron admits he isn’t happy and informs David he would like to return home. With the couple at a frustrating impasse, David presents Aaron with an ultimatum.

Nell is concerned when Melanie goes in for a police interview without her lawyer and shares her worry with Toadie. Toadie’s initially unresponsive, but when he later runs into Melanie and she respectfully offers to attend one of Nell’s therapy sessions, he finds himself softening towards her. He calls in a favour and has Melanie’s case reassigned to one of the best legal aid lawyers in the city. Despite Andrew’s prodding, Toadie insists the help has nothing to do with any residual feelings towards Melanie, and was only done to ease Nell’s troubled mind. At the same time, Terese is left uneasy by an astute observation about her marriage by Nell. On top of this, Toadie keeps on using the same phrase that Paul used to say to her. Despite Chloe’s encouragement to raise the issue with Toadie, Terese decides to let sleeping dogs lie. It’s not that big of an issue.
