Coronation Street fans are in for a nail-biting ride as the search for Joel Deering’s killer begins.

Monday night’s gripping episode saw the discovery of Joel’s body in a river, with a post-mortem confirming foul play—Joel was dead before he hit the water. As Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) declared the investigation a murder case, panic spread across Weatherfield, with several residents visibly shaken.
In the coming weeks, viewers will be treated to tense flashbacks that slowly unravel the truth behind Joel’s murder, as Kit races to solve one of Corrie’s biggest ever whodunnits. The investigation starts with Kit informing Joel’s enemies, Lauren (Cait Fitton) and Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown), both of whom had suffered at Joel’s hands. But the list of suspects is far from short.
Stylish flashbacks will take us back to the fateful night of September 27th when Joel vanished, revealing how many people had a motive to end his life. Not a well-liked man, Joel’s death puts several Weatherfield favourites in the frame.

This week’s suspects include Ronnie (Vinta Morgan), Dee-Dee’s uncle, and Mason (Luca Toolan), a reformed bully. Wednesday’s episode promises a thrilling flashback to the night Joel disappeared, offering fans a crucial piece of the puzzle.
As Kit juggles mounting evidence, former lead DS Swain (Vicky Myers), sidelined from the case, begins her own off-the-record investigation. With twists at every turn, the question remains: Who killed Joel Deering, and will the truth come out before the killer strikes again?
Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 8pm on ITV1
