Home and Away airs on 5 at 1:00pm
Jo arrives home after being unable to update Lacey on any progress on David’s pursuit of information on Wendell. To her surprise, David is at home, taking a sick day. Jo is suspicious – he says he’s not hungry, but then asks about food? In private, David calls Wendell’s former assistant, but isn’t getting anywhere. Jo reports to Lacey she’s worried something’s going on with their dad and Lacey convinces her to ask him about the man Jo saw at the station – he seemed to recognise her… is he a suspect?
David assures her that was a dead end, but Lacey is certain he’s the guy. Lacey saw his paperwork – a Councillor named Craig Wendell. He was nearby on the day of the accident, and David knows it. Jo reviews the commemorative book from their mother’s funeral and, sure enough, she sees the signature of Craig Wendell. The sisters go to David and reveal what they know – this ‘Wendell’ guy is guilty, right?
Meanwhile, Theo is innocently setting up a romantic getaway to Tasmania for he and Lacey – he’s booked a car and they’re going to explore the wilderness together. Theo’s encouraging of Sonny to pull himself together after Sonny’s in the doghouse with Dana – his light joking around Harper’s severe eye condition being very poorly received. Bree adds that it’s still a possibility Harper could lose her sight permanently.
Back at home, Harper’s spiralling – Archie’s scared of her eye-patch, she can’t drive, which means she can’t work. An idea sparks for Sonny, and he arrives with a gift – a bear with an eye-patch. Dana’s disgusted by his poor taste and keeps it hidden from her sister. But when Harper discovers it, she’s amused and it lifts her spirits, naming it ‘Patch’. To Sonny’s surprise, Dana apologises – she was taking her stress out on him, and they make up.
Harper decides she is not going to make it to Cash and Eden’s wedding, and Bree isn’t going either. Dana will stay by home too in solidarity with her sister, expecting Sonny to do the same. Unaware of her expectations, Sonny offers to bring them home a slice of cake each, and Dana is not impressed.
