Brax, Ricky and Casey throw a football in the sand, loving the beach and their new sense of freedom. Back at home, Brax and Ricky speak privately. It’s a new chapter in their lives, and now they can go anywhere – where do they want to call home?
Jo explains to Tane how confronting she is finding her prison visit, but the guard calls time and Jo is sent away. Tane’s hurt, and missing Archie, and the guard Peterson offers a kind word – it’s hard to be a parent in here, but it does get easier. Back at home, Jo tries to go through things with Mackenzie – she told him she’d stick by him no matter what, but after experiencing what it’s like visiting Tane in jail, she’s not sure she can do it.
Mackenzie has to take a call from Dean and leaves, but Ricky relates to Jo’s position. She tried to have a relationship with Brax while he was in prison, which did not go well – she even married someone else, but they found their way back to each other. Ricky’s supportive – nobody will blame Jo if she walks away. Jo’s conflicted – is she giving up on her relationship with Tane?
Mackenzie’s notified there’s a River Boy coming to Salt who will have the details to track down Kerrie. While she’s waiting, Mali updates her about his breakup with Abigail, and she shares the news that she’s pregnant. The Braxton’s are enjoying a meal at Salt when Mackenzie realises Brax has the Blood and Sand tattoo – and mistakes him for her contact. Ricky flares up, frustrated Brax’s past would interrupt their meal and she takes Casey home. It takes a moment for Mackenzie and Brax to determine he’s not the man she’s waiting for – but even so, Brax suggests that maybe he can find a way to help her?
Casey’s mad his parents are still keeping secrets after their reluctance to explain the history of Brax’s tattoo. Alone, Casey turns on the baby monitor – and just when some footage of Kerrie sneaking drugs into Archie’s room starts to play, Casey fumbles and drops the monitor, breaking it.
Justin’s buttering up Leah – insisting he buy her lunch, and Marilyn’s happy to cover. Leah thinks if he’s in a better mood they can talk about the garage, and he couldn’t agree more, starting with his idea: a mobile mechanic business, using the Lyrik van. However, Leah soon realises he has already actioned this plan. He’s commenced converting the van and Leah’s annoyed.
How could he start a whole new business without talking to her first? She walks out, but he finds her later to apologise and admit he should’ve told her earlier. She admits she likes the idea. He’s glad – because he still needs her to help set it up.
