Mackenzie comes home, beaming after her recent ultrasound and the fact that she got to see her healthy baby. Alone, she speaks to her unborn child, wondering what kind of music taste they’re going to have. Levi returns and finds her enjoying this moment when suddenly – she feels a kick. She rushes to Levi and places his hand on her stomach. Levi can’t help but let her down gently with the fact that it’s impossible for her to feel a kick at this early stage of the pregnancy. Mackenzie is deflated that Doctor Fowler never switches off. They have some playful banter back and forth as she insists that it’s her body and she knows what she felt. Levi indulges her by pretending to feel something. The next day though, while Levi is gloating that he would never indulge Mackenzie’s fanciful notions that his baby is kicking so early, Mackenzie puts his hand on her stomach once more. Mackenzie was right, the baby is kicking! They both share this special moment together, Levi happy to be wrong.
In light of the newfound evidence indicting Kerrie and exonerating Tane, Harper’s eager to find her sister and tell her the news. Dana is busy helping Sonny with his physio and seems intent on prioritising alone time with him. When Harper runs into Dana at the Surf Club, she’s quietly hurt that Dana has been ignoring her texts and is on the way to a date night with Sonny at home. Sonny makes an effort to include Harper, and invites her over for some wine, but Dana interjects: She’s probably busy with Archie. Sonny insists that the sisters spend some time together as he needs a nap anyway. When Sonny leaves, Dana explains to Harper that she is completely consumed with helping Sonny recover so Harper leaves, feeling like an imposition. When Dana joins Sonny in the bedroom, he wonders where Harper went, and Dana lies that she had other plans. This pings as strange for Sonny, because Harper seemed so intent on spending time with Dana. The next day, Harper asks Dana to babysit but again she says she can’t – she wants to focus on Sonny’s rehab exercises. Harper’s disappointed as she thought Dana would have more time, especially since she extended her leave, which is news to Sonny. Did Dana extend her leave just to take care of him? Sonny’s beginning to catch on to the fact that Dana is over-prioritising him.
Brax can’t stop thinking about things he’s heard around town regarding River Boy behaviour, especially when it’s on top of what he’s witnessed for himself. He heads to the Diner to visit some old friends and follow up on the information he’s been given regarding Leah’s nephew being mistreated by the River Boys. Leah sits Brax down and explains that the River Boys tortured Theo by lowering a car onto him. Brax is left seething, and he heads for Mangrove River. Ricky gets home, having just missed him, and asks Casey where Brax is. Casey tells her he went to “sort some stuff out.” Ricky suspects that he’s hunting down Sterlo, so she borrows Mackenzie’s car and follows him, with Casey in tow.
When Ricky arrives in Mangrove River, she finds Brax in the middle of a fight with Sterlo. She breaks up the fight, but not before Casey witnesses a side to his father he’s never seen before.
