Home and Away airs on 5STAR at 6:30pm

Alf and Brax are fishing. Alf questions his distracted mood, and Brax opens up about his dilemma – whether to stay in the Bay, raise his son here, or return to WA. Alf is biased when it comes to his love of the Bay – no better place to raise a family, what’s holding him back? Brax is torn – Ricky is worried that if they stay, Casey will end up a River Boy. They decide to continue their conversation over a beer at Salt. Deep into their conversation, Alf tries to approach Brax’s dilemma from a different angle and asks – what’s your definition of home? Brax reflects that it’s changed since he’s become a father but eventually settles on the idea that it’s ‘the place where your family is safe.’ Although they’ve had their differences in the past, Alf doesn’t doubt Brax’s loyalty to his family, and trusts he’ll make the right call.

Back at the house, Casey remains troubled by what he witnessed between his father and the River Boys… and suddenly has a lot of questions for his mum about Brax’s past. Ricky is backed into a corner when Casey asks what really happened to the uncle he was named after. Ricky tells him that’s a question he needs to ask his dad… and when Brax returns, she leaves them to it.

Brax sits Casey down and explains that his uncle’s death wasn’t an accident, it was a bad situation that never should have happened. Brax would do anything to turn back time and do things differently because if he had, his brother might still be here. They bond as Casey sees a more vulnerable side to his dad. But Ricky remains unconvinced that this is the best environment for their son and pushes Brax for a decision on where they should live.

The next day, on the beach, Brax looks out at the ocean, and we wonder what he has decided. When Ricky joins him, it’s clear that she is content with the decision he’s made, and so they both walk up the path back to the Surf Club where Alf, Marilyn, Leah and Justin bid them farewell… Brax, Ricky and Casey are heading back to WA… it’s the right place for them.

David helps Jo forgive herself over her reluctance to see Tane – it’s only natural for her to be questioning her future with him. Jo is grateful but needs David to get back to work – any time spent helping her is taking away from Tane’s case. Meanwhile, Cash tells Tane that his release is delayed because they’re still working out what to do about him skipping bail and leaving the state. Tane is livid, he was counting on being released today… Not only are the threats from Knox, the dangerous inmate, escalating, but he wanted to be out in time for Archie’s first birthday tomorrow.

The next day at the Diner, Leah has prepared some cupcakes, and they blow out a candle for baby Archie alongside Alf, Justin and Marilyn while Harper mourns that Archie’s dad is missing this.

Back at the prison, Knox and his cronies’ corner Peterson, the guard who’s been friendly with Tane. It’s obvious they intend on doing him harm and Tane can’t help but step in to help… and in doing so, he is tasered by an inmate. By the time the other guards arrive, Tane is unconscious and bleeding…
